Haley's Moment

Results of the Papal Conclave, Vatican City.

Seeing the white smoke was by far the most memorable moment of the trip to Italy. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am extremely happy that I was able to experience this! The Conclave was going on throughout the week we were there and we waited to see if the Cardinals would make the decision on the new Pope.  They made the decision around 7:15 p.m. on March 13th and the white smoke came out of the Sistine Chapel.  At this point everyone started to run to the square, which included all of the nuns and priests.  This shocked me so much! It was exciting to see the process that they go through to crown the new Pope, which was Pope Francis.  I will always remember this moment for the rest of my life.
